Developing An Interactive Gamified Learning Application To Enhance Student Engagement

Abstract

In recent years, educators have increasingly turned to gamification to tackle the problem of disengaged learners. This project set out to design and develop an interactive gamified platform that could make learning more motivating, especially for students across different academic fields. The system we built centers around puzzle-based tasks, subject-specific challenges, and real-time progress tracking, all wrapped in a game-like experience. Using the Agile methodology, we incorporated adaptive AI that adjusts the difficulty of content based on how well each student performs, making the platform more responsive to individual needs. Early feedback and performance data indicate that this approach has real potential—students showed better engagement, stronger recall, and more interest in revisiting course material. While our focus was broad, the platform’s flexibility makes it suitable for both STEM and non-STEM subjects. Overall, this project offers insight into how game elements can be used not just for fun, but as serious tools for improving how students learn.
